The 2017-2018 gas RAV4 is the Toyota crossover pick because it combines the pre-2020 telematics window with standard Toyota Safety Sense P. Toyota says 2017 RAV4 and 2018 RAV4 models had TSS-P standard on all grades, including pre-collision with pedestrian detection, lane departure alert with steering assist, automatic high beams, and dynamic radar cruise control.
The 2014-2016 gas RAV4 may still be clean, but it lacks this safety/privacy sweet spot, so it is no longer the featured card. Toyota’s 3G retirement chart names the 2012-2014 RAV4 EV, not the 2014-2018 gas RAV4, while Toyota’s 2020 Connected Services table lists 2020 RAV4 connected-service availability by audio package.
